The orthosis has a stabilizing effect and it stays in place even during rapid movements. The GenuTrain OA is suitable for patients suffering from mild to moderate gonarthrosis, providing targeted relief, reducing pain, and therefore promoting activity. It supports post-traumatic and postoperative healing processes.
The single joint knee orthosis consists of elastic 3D knitted mesh that adjusts to the individual leg shape and a unique relief and stabilization system comprising a splint, a pad, and guided support straps. Both the flexible joint splint with its duo-centric hinge and the viscoelastic pad are positioned laterally. The support straps wind around the knee in a double figure-eight loop. As soon as tension is applied to these support straps via the integrated Boa® Fit System, the splint and pad are pulled close to the leg and the kneecap, applying the relieving force at three points. Pressure on the aching medial compartment is therefore reduced, and a secure position of the GenuTrain OA is ensured. The handy screw fastening system allows for tension – and therefore the noticeable relief effect – to be adjusted as needed, even while wearing the aid.
The extra breathable knitted mesh and pressure-free bending zone in the hollow of the knee make the orthosis very pleasant to wear. The Boa® Fit System provides for a very good fit and makes the product extremely easy to use. There are also donning aids to make putting on and taking off the orthosis easier. The GenuTrain OA is very lightweight and flat enough to be worn underneath pants. It can be adjusted from the outside.
No tools are necessary for adjusting the orthosis. To provide targeted relief for lateral gonarthrosis, the GenuTrain OA in the respective size is put on back to front, and the splint – now positioned medially – is then shaped anatomically by hand.
